Then visit the dolls version of Ikea!

WOW that is a stunning house hun, and i really like the idea of Victorian style, why not take a few books out from the library to get some ideas.

Please keep us posted with the progress.

I have a couple - one is a double fronted shop so not actually a dolls house, I also have a fruit and veg cart and also a thatched cottage that is decorated and wired and now left on a shelf as I am not sure where to put it!

I had photos on the old gallery I will have to try and find them on PC

Thank you, I need to do a lot of studying on the victorian years to get it just right. the libary is the best and cheapest idea.
Would love to see what you have done Carolyn.

I spent ages studying all sorts of books ( i have lots here and did lots from the library!) and then just played in the end.  When I have more room and more time I will return to this hobby.  I just enjoyed making things - so some not entirely authentic.  And then my son started taking an interest so things were bought.  Unfortunately the ‘house’ was going to be the proper project and I even made a fireplace and wired it so that it lit up...but it is bunged on the top of a cupboard and not easy to get to!

I will do a few posts.

To start with this a cart that my Dad made from scratch using plans, I painted it, made all of the boxes and all of the fruit and veg, the lamp post Dad made and it works!

The shed was by my Dad again - from scratch using plans.  We made everything or found big things that worked as tiny iyswim.  The cold frame and deckchair all made by Dad!

The next one is my Dads Ice cream hut - again all made from scratch no plans this time - just imagination...pretty much everything made - things like the candy floss is soft toy stuffing, stick of rock pieces of wood wrapped, Magazines from ads

Sorry the pics are rubbish as they were taken years ago and then scanned!

The other one is the inside of my shop when I first started as it was going to be a ‘Arkwrights’ type of store, and I made loads of pies and bread to start with!

Last post - this is the shop as it is now - with a combination of made and bought items.

It is enclosed on all sides and doesn’t have a roof.  It really does need a redecoration!  I made it from a kit and didn’t wire it.

Do you have a dolls hosue shop near you?  We have a lovely one in Bedford.
