Brilliant Becki I love shrink platic it is so addictive. I’ve never tried it in the oven though, though I must admit trying it with crisp bags when I was a child and getting into serious trouble with my Mum for playing with the oven. I got the whole “you could have burned the house down” lecture
bought some printed shrink plastic from paper nation with footballers and basket ball players on. Did them this afternoon with my two sons and nephew....I love it!. They loved it too,it was fun watching through the oven door and we had a good laugh at how small they ended up
Oh, I love “Shrinky Dinks!” That’s what we call them here in the states anyway! I’ve used them since I was a kid when they first came out just for fun. We had the kind that were printed that you color and just cut around the lines and then shrink in the oven. We also had the kind that you could use markers and pens on and draw your own designs. Now I use them for the hang tags on the teddy bears that I make. You can buy the ones that go through your Inkjet Printer and they work really well (oh, and it’s fun too). So you could really show off your digital art as charms on jewelry if you used these - they have so many applications! Here’s how my tags turned out (sorry for the dark photo - it’s been a bit rainy here lately).
Becki they look great you must be over the moon with them ican imagine you just want to keep doing more and more. I don’t seem to be able to find a stockist of shrink plastic by me, would love to have a go. apollo xxx
where do you get shrink plastic? don’t know what it is, thanks
Hi Gingernut! You should be able to pick up shrink plastic at any craft shop or, failing that, try Ebay for some good deals. It is plastic that, when heated with a heatgun or in the oven, shrinks to about a sixth of its original size. Great fun! Like putting crisp packets in the oven only safer!
