This is a gorgeous shawl - could you give us the pattern details? I should love to do one, but I expect it will be beyond my meagre knitting skills.
I did knit a lovely circular shawl for my daughter’s baptism, but that was thirty years ago, and it was during the 3 day week, when often I was knitting by candlelight. My Mum hit the roof when she saw it because it was green, which she said was unlucky, but I loved it anyway, and so did Rebecca (my daughter), she was still wearing it for a baptism SHE went to when she was four years old, although she couldn’t put the hood up - too small!!!!!
I do like “dabbling” - I knit sometimes, sometimes I do embroidery and crossstitch, and mostly I do cardmaking and sewing, although I want a new sewing machine - but my husband has just been made redundant at 60, so I will have to wait until he has a new job, before spending any more money.

This is the site I ordered the pattern from. I emailed & asked about it as it was an Australian site & they were very helpful and I was able to pay with paypal.

Hi! Just thought I’d update on my shawl. I entered it into a craft competition and it won First Prize! I’m so excited, I’ve won a few raffle prizes and a couple of crossword competitions before but I’ve never won anything for something I’ve made.
