If you fancied setting up and opening your own craft business:

A) What would your dream business specialize in?
B) Where would you run it from?
C) What do you think youmight call your business?
D) Would you prefer to run it all yourself, if on a small scale, or have other staff,
on a bigger scale?
E) Where in the World would you run your dream buiness?

A) All things crafty!! I’m really into stamps at the moment so I guess that would be my speciality. I also love drawing and doodling so my own range of stamps etc would be there for the taking.
B) I would absolutely love to run it from my own house, this sounds odd but I like that personal friendly thing. Would have one big room as the main shop but then welcome people in for a cuppa and slice of cake kinda thing and a chat, (I’m probably in a dream world there and would bankrupt myself through tea and cake but hey)
C)Thats a tough one Vamp’s Crafty Cavern????? Little house of Craft????
D) I’d love to think that I would have to take on lots o staff as it would be so busy but I’d probably like it to be just me, and I’d of course give me mum a job so she could help me out.
E) In Blackpool from my house, I can only find 2 good craft shops in my area one that deals with fabric and threads etc and one that has card making goodies(and they are both a good 30 mins drive from me). So if anybody know any crafty shops in Blackpool then please let me know.I would also have a website for my shop with mail order to do worldwide stuff.

So....it’s really my turn to tell you mine then! Been some time since I did this thread!

My Dream Business............

Doesn’t really matter where in the world it is based but, it would be have to be in a idyllic village where everyone knows everyone and is a place where there’s always tourists visitng....just like the small villages in Fife, on the coast!

My business would specialise in a few things: my paintings in a gallery section, handcrafted cards made by myself along with other handcrafted cards that complements mine, a craft shop full of all your crafty materials bursting off the shelf but, well organised and tidy, window displays would have creative makes on show, in one window and in the other, flowing display of new stock arrived with my own creations!, a little coffe and craft area for you o come and sit down and do your thing while chatting away to your crafty friends and learning new things and my studio would be there too showing you my easel with the recent painting being worked on, my craft table with projects on the go and then there would be my secret place...this no one knows about! And, lastly I would have my Wedding Stationary Designs on show there too out in the shop! Consultancy would take place in a seperate area where I would have all the tea/coffee/hot chocolate, cakes/biscuits/muffins for during the consultancy of wedding stationary designs!

Not sure what it would be called but would have to have the word Sequins in it!

My gallery would consist of beer and cocktails because thats what people in my life are more interested in :*(

I would like a small holding withlots of animals, pigs, ducks, chickens and a barn with rooms above so I could hold workshops on the ground floor and people could stay above..Also I would have lots more birds of prey and hubby could hold hawking weekends...ooh and a farm shop...and a craft shop...I could call it “The Owl House”...I just need to win the lottery!!

I love pigs, barn animals are very gentle and funny animals. Kids could go up there and draw the animals, so it would be productive, and you could host animal teaparties hehe

I would love to open up a little shop in a pretty villiage set in the middle of nowhere, full of pretty sparkly crafty things and call it maggies marvellous menagerie

So would all the ‘maggie’s get a discount

lol of course, id probrably not make a penny owning to the fact it would be in the middle of nowhere but id be in my element

Thats besides the point Maggie at least you would be in your element..who needs to make money…

We have been discussing this for the last year,we would love a cottage on the river,with mooring for our own narrow boat and 1 to rent out..about 5 acres of land for our animals and a veggie garden to grow and sale....A workshop so that Colin can keep up his wood turning business and for me to make/sale cards etc
It will happen one day and will not be a dream.....IT would be just myself and Colin..

A) What would your dream business specialize in? Buttons, brads, beads - the smaller bits and pieces

B) Where would you run it from? A little country shop on the North York moors as beautiful surroundings and views, plus lots of holiday makers etc

C) What do you think you might call your business? Pippa’s Palace

D) Would you prefer to run it all yourself, if on a small scale, or have other staff,
on a bigger scale? Myself with a possible part time help so I could give classes, talk to customers etc

E) Where in the World would you run your dream business? Somewhere like lealholme, danby etc (North York Moors)
