Today our postman brought me a letter with some information for the Artstamps Art Stamp and Papercraft Fair in Edinburgh on 31 May and 1 June. Venue is again the Corn Exchange. Doors open at 10 o’clock on both days. The show is running until 5 on Saturday and until 4 o’clock on Sunday. Admission is again quite reasonable with £3.50 for adults and £2.30 for children.

Is anybody going?

I will definitely be there on Saturday - perhaps even on both days. Last year I also went on both days and ended up spending an insane amount of money red face. But I had a great time.

Oh yes, Newbury is the English one. I love about these crafts fairs that they have a more familiar feel, you can build up contacts with the exhibitors in case you want to order from them in the future and it is just not as busy as at the big exhibitions. It would just drive me mad, if people stepped onto my feet constantly and if I could not see demonstrations or products.

Remember you saying you liked this show, Scottish Lassie. I hope to be able to get through to Edinburgh, but at the moment unsure whether it will be possible. Would be fab if I could make Saturday too! Promise not to stamp on anyone’s feet. I’m not a crowd lover either!

Hi, whereabouts is the corn exchange? And would I be better coming thru’ on the train from Glasgow? Last time I was in Edinburgh the roads were chaos and I couldn’t get parked. Your help appreciated.

Ta, Liz.

Here is the link to the Corn Exchange website, which also shows the exact location.

They also mention that the nearby Slateford Train Station is on the Glasgow central line, so perhaps you would be able to take a train. Waverley is in the city centre and quite a bus trip away (especially now with the tram roadworks). And even Haymarket would require a longer walk plus a bus trip.

Hi, thanks for that. I looked up that site and may take the train if I decide to go. Never heard of Slateford station but then I’m usually on the Queen Street train which might be different stops.

Didn’t know about this - sounds very good. Would like to try to get through on the Saturday.  Looked up the link - from Strathaven I can drive along the A71 and follow the directions.
Lizloveswill - notice that you live in EK - if you wanted to go and would like a lift, let me know - no probs to meet you in EK.

Thanks for the offer Sally but I probably won’t know for definite until the day (we get back from Florida very close to then and might not feel like going). Wouldn’t want to make arrangements then let you down.

Imagine you being just up the road - it’s a small world this crafting world.

Sure is Liz - we’re just back from Florida - 1st time ever - had a FAB time - visited all the Disney parks and did lots of shopping too!! Only found one craft shop - Michael’s - a bit like Hobbycraft.  They have a branch on International Drive and another one off Sandlake Road and Orange Blossom Trail.

Maybe we can meet up another time - do you ever go to any of the demo days at Craftology at Hillington?
