Crochet a set of coasters to brighten up your kitchen space

What you need...

• Yarn: Sirdar Snuggle Baby Bamboo DK: 1 ball each in 123 yellow; 159 turquoise; 160 pink

• Beads, glass: white, 25; turquoise, 40

instructions

1. Turquoise Coaster - Foundation ring:
   With turquoise yarn, make 10ch and join with sl st
   
   Round 1: 3ch, 24tr in loop, sl st to 3rd ch
   
   Round 2: 3ch, 1tr in 1tr to end, sl st to 3rd ch
   
   Round 3: 4ch, (1tr in 1tr, 1ch) to end, sl st to 3rd ch
   
   Round 4: 4ch (1tr in 1tr, 1ch) to end, sl st to 3rd ch
   
   Round 5: 5ch, (1tr in 1tr, 2ch) to end, sl st to 3rd ch
   
   Round 6: 6ch, (1tr in 1tr, 3ch) to end, sl st to 3rd ch
   
   Round 7: 4ch, (1tr in 2nd ch, 1tr in 1tr) to end, sl st to 3rd ch
   
   Round 8: 4ch, (1tr in 2nd ch, 1tr in 1tr) to end, sl st to 3rd ch, fasten off
   
   Thread 25 white beads onto the pink yarn and join to top of 1tr
   
   Round 9: 4ch (1tr in 1tr, 2ch) to end, sl st to 3rd ch
   
   Round 10: (3ch, slide down one bead, 1sl st to anchor bead, 3ch, sl st to 2nd tr) to end. Fasten off.

2. Yellow Coaster - Foundation ring:
   With pink yarn, make 10ch and join with sl st
   
   Round 1: 3ch, 23tr into ring, sl st to 3rd ch
   
   Round 2: 3ch, yoh, yarn through 3rd ch (3 loops on hook) yarn through two loops, yoh, yarn through 3rd ch (4 loops on hook), yarn through 2 loops, yarn through 3 loops, 2ch, (skip 1tr, 1tr cluster in 1tr, 2ch) to end, sl st to 3rd ch. Fasten off. Join yellow yarn to 1 2ch sp.
   
   Round 3: (2dc in 2ch sp) to end, sl st to 1st dc
   
   Round 4: (2ch, skip 1dc, 1dc in 1dc) to end, sl st to 1st ch, sl st in loop
   
   Round 5: (3ch, 1dc in centre of previous loop) to end, sl st to 1st ch, sl st to centre of 1st loop.
   
   Round 6: (4ch, 1dc in centre of previous loop) to end, sl st to 1st ch, sl st to centre of 1st loop.
   
   Round 7: (5ch, 1dc in centre of previous loop) to end, sl st to 1st ch, sl st to centre of 1st loop.
   
   Round 8: (6ch, 1dc in centre of previous loop) to end, sl st to 1st ch, sl st to centre of 1st loop.
   
   Round 9: (7ch, 1dc in centre of previous loop) to end, sl st to 1st ch, sl st to centre of 1st loop, fasten off. Thread 24 turquoise beads on to the turquoise yarn and join to centre of one loop.
   
   Round 10: 4ch, slide down one bead, 1sl st to anchor bead, 4ch, 1dc in centre of next loop to end. Finish off.
   
   Cluster:
   tr cluster (yoh, pull yarn through top of 1tr, yarn through first two loops on hook) 3 times in same tr, yarn through all 4 loops.

3. Pink Coaster - Foundation ring:
   With yellow, make 13ch and join with sl st to make a loop.
   
   Round 1: 1ch, 15dc in loop, sl st to 1ch, fasten off. Join on turquoise.
   
   Round 2: 3ch, 4tr in same sp. Take hook from working loop, insert through top of 3ch and draw loop through, 2ch, (1 popcorn st in 1tr, 2ch) to end, sl st top 3rd ch, fasten off. Thread 16 turquoise pony beads onto pink yarn and join to 2ch sp.
   
   Round 3: 2ch, 1dc in centre of next sp, to end, sl st to top of 1st loop.
   
   Round 4: 3ch, 1dc in centre of next sp, to end, sl st to top of 1st loop.
   
   Round 5: 4ch, 1dc in centre of next sp, to end, sl st to top of 1st loop.
   
   Round 6: 5ch, 1dc in centre of next sp, to end, sl st to top of 1st loop.
   
   Round 7: 6ch, 1dc in centre of next sp, to end, sl st to top of 1st loop.
   
   Round 8: 7ch, 1dc in centre of next sp, to end, sl st to top of 1st loop.
   
   Round 9: 8ch, 1dc in centre of next sp, to end, sl st to top of 1st loop.
   
   Round 10: 9ch, 1dc in centre of next sp, to end, sl st to top of 1st loop.
   
   Round 11: 5ch, slide down 1 bead, 1st st to anchor bead, 5ch, 1dc in centre of next loop, to end, fasten off.
   
   Popcorn stitch:
   5tr in same sp. Take hook from working loop, insert through top of 1st tr and draw loop through.
