Methods

1 Create a blank, 14cm x 15cm, from white card. Cut a square of blue card, 13cm x 14cm, and attach to the front, as shown.

2 Press the PIP button on your key pad. This will select the picture in picture function. Navigate to the circle shape and select the PIP button again. This will place the circle inside the other shapes.

3 Load yellow card and cut a scalloped circle and three flowers , all with the circle in the centre. Sizes should range from 1” to 2.5”. Repeat with a sheet of orange card.

4 Attach the yellow petals to the orange circles – matching up the sizes. Curl the petals slightly using the end of a pair of tweezers or by hand. Position the flowers onto the front of the card, as shown.

5 Take a metal ruler and craft knife, and make thin cuts in the blue card starting just under each flower and finishing at the edge of the square. These will form stalks when placed onto the greeting.

6 To finish, use the alphabet function on the machine to cut the word 'Smile' from white, then cut a 'shadow' from orange. Layer the letters together and adhere to the front of the card.
