There's nothing better than receiving a hand-made greeting, particularly during the festive season. Our three gorgeous designs include a bauble motif formed with quilling, a vibrant stamped card and a funky Christmas tree, formed from strips of taffeta.

Quilled Bauble

Cover the front of a tall blank with lilac snowflake paper from the ultimate Christmas creative pack. Stick another strip along the bottom edge of the inside of the card.

Using a circular object, e.g a small glass, as a form, wind a length round a length of 5mm quilling paper, securing regularly as you go. You will need to make a circle at least five to six layers thick. Secure at the end.

Fix the circle to the blank. Infill with coordinating quilled shapes until the whole shape is filled. Adhere a length of silver ribbon vertically down the card and finish with a knotted piece of ribbon to cover the join with the bauble.

Make three tags from the pack, sticking coordinating sentiments on each and finishing with a large silver brad. Fasten the three tags down the top right hand side of the card with foam pads.

Fix an acetate border along the bottom edge of the card with turquoise eyelets. Colour a sentiment with lilac chalk and fix inside the blank. Trim two tags from the pack and fix together with a turquoise brad, then stick inside the card with double-sided tape.

Joy Card

Cover the front of a card blank with green snowflake paper. Stamp and emboss ‘JOY’ onto red paper from the pack and cut out the letters. Trim Christmas acetate from the set and mount onto green paper. Attach a silver snowflake brad and then mount onto red paper.

Stick a ‘Christmas’ sentiment onto the card with double-sided tape. Position the ‘JOY’ letters beneath this with foam pads. Fix snaps into the centres of the snowflakes on the background. Glue a strip of coordinating paper and another acetate sentiment to the inside of the greeting.

Snip a narrow length of green paper with decorative scissors and adhere over the join of the other strip. Tie coordinating ribbon down the spine of card and thread beads onto each end, tying a knot beneath to secure.

Christmas Tree

Fold purple bazzill card to form a tall blank. Trim stiff card to form a triangle with a base 7cm wide, and two sides 11cm long. Cover the front of the triangle with double-sided tape and stick on strips of torn taffeta as shown.

Once complete, turn over and secure the ends on the reverse with more tape. Stick the Christmas tree to the front of the card blank. Snip a square of silver holographic card and adhere below the tree, as a base. Cover the inside of the greeting with coordinating paper.

Using white rub-on letters put the sentiment of your choice on the front of your card. Fix three turquoise eyelets vertically down from top right corner and knot purple and turquoise narrow ribbon through each.

Top Tips

Visit an upholsterers to see if they have sample scraps of taffeta, or try remnant shops.
