Twinkling ruby and olivine Swarovski crystals inspired Gill Teasdale to create this sumptuous bracelet for Christmas. Briolettes beads, which are horizontally drilled for a dazzling effect, are combined with Xilions, filigree rounds and antique gold findings to make stylish wrist-wear that will take you through the festive season, and beyond!

1 Slip a crimp bead onto a 30cm length of Beadalon, then pass it through the loop on the bar part of the toggle. Pass it back through the crimp bead a short way, (this tail will be hidden inside the first few beads) and squash the crimp bead using chain-nosed pliers.

2 Thread a 4mm olivine Xilion, a filigree, a 6mm Ruby Xilion, a filigree, * an 11mm olivine Briolette, an 11mm Ruby Briolette, a filigree, a 6mm olivine Xilion, a Filigree, an 11m Ruby Briolette, an 11mm olivine Briolette, a filigree, a 6mm Ruby Xilion and a filigree.** Repeat from * to ** twice more, then add a 4mm olivine Xilion.

3 Slip on a crimp bead and pass the end though the loop on the other part of the toggle and back through the crimp bead and the last few beads threaded. Remove all the excess Beadalon and push the beads together fairly tightly to prevent the Briolettes from spinning round, then squash the crimp bead with chain-nosed pliers. Trim the Beadalon using side cutters.
