I just started one last night called 'The Distant Echo' by Val Mc Deermid. It's about four students that find girls body on their way home one night and they are then the suspects but there wasn't enough evidence to charge them so after about 20 years or so the case is reopened but the four students start to mysteriously get killed.
I've only read the first 2 chapters so far but it's really gripping.Has anyone else read this book or any by this author?
I'm reading "I am Legend" at the moment (just started it). I haven't seen the moive yet, I prefer to read the book first, lol. It's really good so far but a little confusing because the main character is described in the book as "of English-German stock" and blond ... which erm, isn't really Will Smith, but never mind.
Hi Sparkles
I love Val McDiarmid too. I'll have to look out for this one. I've just finished Patricia Cornwell's Book of the Dead. Moving on to something lighter now and re-reading The Cross Stitch series by Diana Gabaldon
That sounds like a really interesting book Sparkles!!!!
I am reading a book about moles, in a wood, can't remeber the name of it as haven't read it for about two months and don't know where it is lol! D-something wood, or hill maybe!
Im reading the book Gloria Huniford wrote about her daughter Caron Keatings courageous fight with cancer. I must admit I wept at the first couple of chapters as they described her last few days and her death.
I dont usually like biography/autobiography books and im finding that its taking ages to read but feel as though abandoning the book is some kind of betrayal (if thats the right word)to the subject matter (ie. cancer sufferers)
Does that make sense or am i just being over sensitive?
I've just started a book by Karin Slaughter called Kisscut. It's really easy to get into. It's a crime fiction thriller about a small american town where teenagers are hiding secrets and being abducted. So far that's as much as I know,I'll keep reading to find out what it's all about.Let you know when I've finished.
Has anyone else read this book or any book by this author?
I'm reading Phantom of the Opera, Duncton Wood (thats the mole on I mentioned earlier ) and also Life in Cold Blood (the book accompanying David Attenborough's new series).
And yes I rarely finish a book! Just keep on picking up new ones lol!!!
Im reading Faith by Lesley Pearce. Its about a woman who is in prison for allegedly murdering her best friend and her childhood sweetheart who she betrayed is fighting to get her released and the real killer found. I like all her books, they're really easy to get into but really hard to put down!
I am on the last few pages of a trilogy by Maureen Lee. Lights out Liverpool, Put out the fires, Through the storm.
What an education. I usually avoid any books about war. Being a London child I was too near to the real thing ,but I never realized that Liverpool and the docks, took such a hammering. I almost feel I owe all Northern people an apology for being so ignorant all my life. But that is it now. Not a subject to go on about, or read about again. Why cant Maeve Binchy write as quickly as I can read?
I understand Tara Road is now out on DVD another must find when back in UK. josie
I am still reading "The Friday Night Knitting Club". I am a bit of a slow reader. Once I get into a book I enjoy itdoesn't ake me long to read it though!

Excellent author, I've got 'Killing The Shadows' to read, I've read 'Wire in The Blood' and 'The Distant Echo' - I'd really recommend them
I'm reading "Eldest" for the second time which is the second in the Eragon series. I don't have anything else to read at the moment. I read "Eragon" before seeing the movie and have to say the casting for the movie was not good at all.
