Does anyone else think that the amount of yarn needed for this pattern on p12 in the new LK looks a lot considering Laurel on p28 only uses a few balls more for a full cardi?

Any admin able to help?

Ok, so sorry I'm not Admin, but they are in different yarns, and I can't see the meterage info on any of them. Meterage can make more difference than weight when it comes to area coverage. Also, I think maybe the blackberry stitch used in Ffion takes up a lot of yarn.

I agree it does look a lot, to do my size Ffion is 910m and Laurel is 1160m seems a bit odd.

Maybe it's something to do with the bobbles!

Hopefully Elaine or Adrienne will see this tomorrow and let us know smile

Hi Moonhippy,

The amount needed for Ffion is largely due to the stitch used and as it's a much more involved stitch, it uses more yarn. It is also an all over pattern compared to Laurel which only has detail on the edges. The rest of Laurel uses stocking stitch, which uses less yarn as it is quite a flat stitch. The pattern has been checked so hopefully that is the correct amount.
