Finally posted piccies of me in my Cerulean shrug - done today when it's about 75C!! Might have holes in it but it's warm LOL Bit like a glamorous string vest I suppose LOL
Looking forward to seeing everybody elses when they're finished.

Well I twisted the OH's arm up his back and he moaned about the lighting etc etc but I got a pic, just the one!
Must say I'm impressed the camera didn't pick up all the grey in my hair and not sure where the red tinge has come from as that's my natural colour honest!

Anyway here's my shrug but don't worry you don't have to look at my scary face cheese

ooh busy and susie, they both look gorgeous well done both of you grin
i was thinking of making this with the wool i got yesterday (on yesterday's thread) but it's too thick long face so i'm making a shrug from the simply knitting mag from april 08. i have to admit, it's a bit of a pain the pattern but once you get used to it, it kinda flows along, hopefully i'm going to finish it as it's long sleeves as well and knit in one piece...GULP!!! gulp
anyhoo, you both look lovely in your shrugs so again well done... grin and susie your face isn't scary at all cos i remember seeing your photo on the old website... hee hee! tongue wink

Hey Emmilou, it took me hundreds of photos to find one where I looked half decent for the old website!
I just used a cheap ball of acrylic DK although I've found some nicer wool in my stash that would look good for another one grin

I did a shrug from SK for Ellie and it seemed to take weeks! The cerulean knits up quite quick and the pattern was really easy to follow too. I thought about downsizing it for Ellie after I've done a few preemie clothes for my nephew and I also adapted the crisscross pattern to make her a headband grin

Hey and I'm sure you look fine Emmilou smile I've always got a habit of pulling strange faces when I'm having my picture took or frowning so I look mad!

LOL thats like me - it's like my face goes into nervous mode and gets a weird looking grin plastered onto it LOL i look a lot better if i don't know about it or if i'm the one behind the camera...lol!! grin
good luck with the downsizing, i think it's brilliant when we do that, i made a crocheted top for both daughters from a pattern for us ladies out of the happy hooker book (oops, i've forgotten the author's name!!), i was well chuffed with myself if i may say so myself like...hee hee!!! LOL

Oh Buzy and Suzie I'm well impressed. They both look lovely - perfect for the cooler evenings. I have got the pattern but it will probably be next summer before I knit it. It looks quite intricate. Well done to both of you x

Hey Emmilou, good on you for adjusting a crochet pattern for you daughters grin

Hey Annie, its not intricate at all, there's not even any increasing or decreasing, just a needle size change cheese

thanks for that susie grin
ooh, so thats how it's done, i haven't read the pattern yet but i like it when that happens cos then it feels like it's growing a lot quicker, LK had a beret pattern in when they gave the 20mm wooden needles away a year or two ago and it did the same thing, i made a lot of these for friends and family cheese i even blended dk yarns together to make chunkier wool red face
