There are some fab WIP's going on by the sounds of it!
Here are a few of mine
Some of them are definately a case of can you tell what it is yet? he he
The first one is a short cardie shrug using big wool, the second is a little shrug using big softee in the lovely red colour and the third is a pullover for a newborn baby using baby bamboo, I looooove this wool so much it is gorgeous to knit with
I have a couple of others on the go, still havn't finished the snuggly snowflake baby cardie but must do it this week...eugh...
I love them too, they are the colours from the pattern as I just thought they were lovey...its a sirdar baby bamboo pattern too, I have made the smallest size as my friend has just had a baby and he is a month early but the great thing is it goes up to 6yrs so could make one for my nephew too!
That looks fab!!!! I am ashamed of myself because I haven't knitted since my last post. I'm one of these people that is either in the mood or not. Please forgive me LOL. Will try to do better !
My best friend is having a baby in less than a month and I'm knitting a pair of bootee's for her baby to be ... running out of time, my dad's a knitter too, he gave me the pattern and it's taken me so long to get to grips with it! Hopefully I've got the hang of it now!
Yea . . . I think male knitters are becoming much more common, but my Dad has been knitting since before I was born, I think he learned as a boredom buster for long night shifts.
Once I've knitted this pair of bootees for my best friend, I'm going to have a break from bootees but then I have to knit another pair, my sister is also having a baby, but I think I'll look for a different pattern for the second pair!
Knithulu are you on Ravelry? You might find some nice alternative bootie patterns for free on there or www.knittingpatterncentral.com and of course our favourite LK is always doing kiddy knits
It's nice to hear people doing baby knits I have done a few myself recently and I like them, quick and easy he he
At the moment I am knitting a Kim Hargreaves pattern called Hannah from her Thrown Together book, it is a stripy sheer mohair jumper in kidsilk aura but I am using kidsilk haze for an even more delicate finish...its pink and cream and looking yummy if I do say so myself
Ah they have the kidsilk stuff in the "rival" lys in town and it is lovely I think I really must write down the ball requirements of certain patterns and keep it in my handbag because I see patterns then a while after see the wool but can never remember how much I would need for the project
Su2ie - I had just signed up for a Ravelry account, so I'll have a gander at the patterns V soon. Although I have put the bootee's into retirement for now, I've been working on them for a while which is just making me sick of the site of them. Luckily, i have a pattern for a little teddy bear which uses very similar wool, I've already made one and it took me 3 days so I'm knitting that for now to get me out of my rut.
