Fragrant wonders

Craft your own lavender candle and decorative paper using Jill Albas’ techniques, for an enviable scented collection

Safety first

Avoid heating wax above direct heat or in a microwave. Keep children and pets away from your work area. If hot wax splashes onto the skin, immerse it in cold water immediately. Refrain from pouring molten wax into sinks.

Craft trick

To discover how much wax is needed, fill a mould with water then tip the fluid into a measuring jug. For every 100ml of water allow 100g of wax and 10g of stearin
